Watercolors with ‘a lot’ of water.
Today’s work was more of an experiment with water. I wanted to check how much control I have over the flow of water and the pigments. I searched for a reference photo on Unsplash and sketched an outline of it on a half imperial sheet. Then I started out with the clouds. I made sure that I didn’t have any sort of hard edge in the first layer.
As my painting progressed, I could feel that I started to sway away from the reference photo. I started using my own imagination and decided that the background shouldn’t have a definite form. I gave a definite form to the middle ground though and the foreground was kept just as it is with minimal details.
